SC Iowa | Strange times indeed.........for a corn market that believes there is adequate "total supply", many parts of the US have flat to inverted bid structures..
and will remain that way until they either 1) see a big enough flush of cash corn to break front end basis levels enough to show a carry out 4-6 months or 2) get within a couple of months of those time slots and want to add coverage
I think the memories of the late 90's and early 2000's are still in the back of their minds........lot of corn in loan program that came out in Aug/Sept...
one year our August basis hit -50U in Eddyville but had recovered 20-25 cents by the middle of harvest!
