South central kansas | In terms of oil, the cost savings of lower oil price is only part of the equation. The other part is the massive layoffs in the oil industry and related businesses and the multiplier effects to the economy as a whole. I don't have any figures but I believe the loss of employment, decrease in spending by the loss of revenue in the oil patch is larger than any perceived economic "help" that lower oil price may provide. | |
