John , all this is way over my intelligence level But in early 1970's when they just started growing early corn varities in Ottawa Valley area Ag experts were telling corn growers that you should be prepared to chop a lot of corn for silage and feed beef as high probability of it not maturing. Last 10 yrs. its kinda been the never fail, garden spot of Ontario . At best these are just a guess
