Sounds like he has dryland which should have dryland rent. Additional yield due to you putting water on at your expense isn't something he should be able to use against you. After all, if he rents it to someone else then they will have dryland without your pivot and well. Although you probably have it adjudicated to his ground now, not sure in your state what it takes to remove that so he can't force you to let him run the well. Something to consider if you split ways.


Or what I am sure everyone is gonna say, you need to buy it. But now he probably thinks he needs irrigated ground money out of it too.
