Subject: RE: Too Big To Fail

I personally prefer to deal with small local banks and credit unions.

First - I appreciate the post. We can obsess about a lot of things here on this forum, but this subject has the potential to overwhelm everything else, as it goes to having confidence in the system.

How do we assess the risks of small banks and credit unions? Is there a way for us to know what kind of risks there are by small banks connections to bigger banks? I'm not trying to ask rhetorical questions - and if this sounds like a foolish question, it's because I have not researched it.

Is there any safe haven? Most of the talk here has been about the probability of inflation due to printing money. What about deflation due to the destruction of money in a crisis? Again, I am *not* trying to ask rhetorical questions. If this subject doesn't scare everyone on this forum, they are not paying attention. The *system* is only good as long as people have faith in it.
