In 1977 you could probable raise 120 bu acre and harvest 4 acres an hour. Today you can probable grow close to 200 bu an acre and harvest 15 acres an hour with one machine. I don't think inflation has very much to do with it. In 1977 I could have paid $5,000 for a computer that would do less then 1/10 of what my $800 computer will do today.



Find someone to run that combine for $2 per hour and then you can tell us inflation doesn't have very much to do with it.

I don't see what computer price has to do with it. If combine capability and pricing followed computers, you'd be able to buy an s690 for $8,000.
