Other than widespread drought years (88,91,12) I would guess the corn belt average is not changed much year to year. Always some higher and lower areas, that makes the average.

There always someone that's too wet and always someone that was too dry. YES that makes an average yield most years. One CAN NOT focus on just the super wet area's in the eastern belt like this year. We all need to look at the bigger picture of OUR yields nation wide yields. East to west and north to south, THEN look beyond OUR country to area's across the world. This is how YOU manage the risks of growing crops on YOUR farm.

There was some big names in the marketing biz (NOT ALL NAMES) that focused on the super wet areas out east.....
Week after week of yellow/stunted/water logged pictures of corn/beans, TWITTER WAS FULL THIS.......................
There were those up flying around in planes reporting the damage..............................................................................................
We heard this stuff for WEEKS on farm radio/media on ALL kind..............................................................................................
THEN THE NEWS THE FUNDS ARE BUYINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
FOCUSING ONLY on these damaged areas has been very costly to many farmers.................................................................
There were a few names talking $5.00 plus corn...............................................................................................................................
EVEN when crude started off after July 4th with a GAP LOWER at an important techy point and has been in the crash and burn mood ever since and this was a "selling the living manure" out of it type of move. But "the most" did not care,,, they focused on the rain damage and the rain rally*****

The last 2 years there's been some fairly big names in market land that got "YOUR FIRED" and have went else where's because farmers clients dropped those services. Would not surprise me if we have a few more that get canned in the coming months because of UN-happy farmer clients.
