We have only used our Samsung front loader w/d for a couple of months. Ours has the steam cleaner option in both w and d. Both wife and daughter love the steam option. SEEMS to work great so far. I've heard them both comment that the clothes come out of the washer a lot drier than the old top loader, I suppose because the new one spins it faster.
