| I wouldn't want to switch an older engine like an 856 to synthetic. It is designed to have bigger clearances inside for the oil than the synthetic will take up. The synthetic will not have as much "cushion". At least that is how it was explained to me. I would be a little concerned even going to 15-40 as it may have a higher detergent rating. If I switched it over I would keep running it on the multi weight oil.
