$5.46 and the online broker still makes $$. Crazy what the above posts claim a few phone calls cost, 70-80 bucks a trade seems insane to me . Glad the crops we grow here aren't traded on exchanges, one less expense.
Those are round trip prices, not each side. My broker will sit on the phone with me for 10-15 minutes if I want, doing research for me. And that money has to pay his salary and all the office overhead. It's not really unreasonable for that level of service.
Oh, forgot one other thing. As part of the full service, they'll front the money for margin calls while waiting for a personal check. My understanding is that the online broker wants a direct connection with your bank account so you can transfer money that day.
