London, Ontario, Canada | Have a Brush Wolfe on my 8 ton. It's a 48" 2 blade flail. Diamond makes a 3 blade. Difference is Diamond is direct drive and Brush Wolfe drives through a gearbox. The logic is a gearbox is cheaper to repair than the hydraulic motor after taking all the force. You can decide.
I like the blades better than a true flail as it does both trees and grass. Flails IMO don't seem to do a very fast or good job in grasses.
My machine tested 19 gpm at 2800 psi. When I ordered my cutter from them I gave them those specs. and they shipped me the correct unit. On the hottest days my cutter motor showed 51C and the hottest spot in the engine department showed 71C. Have to convert to F. All good numbers IMO.
Problem now when you use it on fence rows and cleaning up areas it looks so good you feel you have to keep cleaning more areas. LOL.
