Subject: question about coated alfalfa seed

I'm trying to understand what the coating is that is being discussed in the other thread. Is it innoculant like Nitragin Gold? Is it an insecticide like a neonic? Or is it something to do with roundup ready alfalfa? The only coating I remember seeing on alfalfa is innoculant. I haven't bought just bare alfalfa seed in quite a while.
