Subject: The Outer Limits - O.B.I.T. episode - govt tracking

southern MN
I'm a science fiction fan.

ThisTV shows 2 episodes of The Outer Limits every Sunday night.

The episode on right now is, "O.B.I.T."

Turns out the govt, and others, are using these mysterious machines that are able to watch any person exactly what they do.

Eventually one govt fella comes out and says its just horrible, addictive, to check out your friends and enemies and sit in front of the machine and just watch and learn about individuals.

Few people are starting to be institutionalized because of using - becoming addicted to - these machines.

Man, it sounds like where we are today, the phone records the govt keeps on us, the tracking by GPS, the data Google and others collect on us, and Facebook....... The video police speeding tickets.....

Did I mention Facebook?

Very spooky for this 1963 television episode to nail the future as it does!

Spoiler alert, the ending 'plot surprise' is that the machines are brought about by aliens to demoralize all of humanity so that invading our planet will be easy.

Probably doesn't sound all that much from my description, but its a real commentary on the current technology tracking all of us.
