| I am going to take the opposite side of most of the replies. I don't know your location or stage of growth in the beans, but at 50 aphids/plant you would be wasting time and money. Google "soybean aphid management" and you will read every state university recommendation of 250/plant. True economic threshold is 600/plant. We are in Southern Minnesota with levels around 80. A big key to us holding off spraying right now is that we are at R5 and have plenty of moisture. The forecast of highs in the 70's will be perfect for them to ramp up quickly, so we may end up spraying, but for now we will keep scouting. | |
