Gerald you might wanna read up on the testing for the gmo proteins. The test can be done with some of the same machines that do aflatoxin testing in corn like an Envirologics tester.
Different combs are for different traits like roundup ready, liberty, and then the corn traits.
The sample of the grain is taken and ground up in a commercial coffee grinder and then dipped like a preg test for so long and read on a special scanner hooked to a computer. The test is only as good as the accuracy of the sample pulled.
Then different market have different levels of gmo they are willing to accept. Might be .2% or 5%. Just depends on the guy with his check book out. Think of it like you tell the order buyer I want black cows...you unload 100 cows and 5 are black baldies...do you reject the load or most would be ok with it. |
