Central KS | We figured $55-70(depending mostly on variation in N price) an acre more for Clearfield wheat than non Clearfield. First year we tried it we had 95%+ control of rye. Last year closer to 75% control. AP503 both years. Last year it was devastated by rust, and was our poorest wheat. If it is dry in the fall or spring, the effectiveness will be much less. I would not plant a single gene variety. You can not make two full rate passes on those varieties. Be careful how much fertilizer you apply with your beyond. Local COOP did some test strips with beyond and different fertilizer rates. Each strip with higher fert rate than the minimum label recommendation resulted in a yield drop. | |
