Southeast Colorado | Why did you buy your hail insurance so early then? If you bought it early it would have covered you maybe if you had such a severe storm that it killed the plants............never have seen that happen but anything is possible. On July 4th a big hailstorm just south of me killed thousands of acres of small milo. We always wait until we can make a somewhat reasonable guess on yields before putting any hail insurance on. I guess my point is that with hail insurance you are sort of guesstimating a value on that crop at the time you come up with the dollar amount you wish to insure..............so it was evidently just a mistaken decision. | |
