3 different conversations with different individuals... USDA changed the test weight of corn from 56 bu to 54 bu because glyphosate has reduced the metals/proteins in the kernel going to more carbs.

You should keep better company. I'm not a GMO fan, but GMO traits have little to do with test weight. It has more to do with base hybrid genetics. Hybridization decreased nutrition more than GMO traits.

Us farmers will grow whatever the market wants. It takes way more energy to make a protein or mineral than a starch. But proteins & minerals are more dense. So why would we waste energy that could have added more lbs of starch to get corn that weighs 60 lbs when the standard is 54 lbs for dockage?
