He better double check with his agent. Since ours made above revenue for yield and price we dont get any reimbursement on dock You might be right. If the yield was high enough to compensate for the quality discounts, then there would be no claim. But if he made his yield guarantee, and the harvest price hasn't gone up, he will have a claim due to quality discounts. Example: 70 bu. APH X 70% coverage= 49 bu guarantee X $5/bu=$245/ acre
Assume he gets 49 bu/acre and price is still $5, but has discounts of $2.50/bu. Insurance will make up the quality discounts of $2.50/bu. to bring him to his guarantee of $245/acre. |
