Carroll, OH | I would consider a diverse legume mix with some brassica; Cow Pea, Sunn Hemp, Soybean, Crimson Clover, Balansa Clover, Persian Clover, Sunflower, buckwheat and Dwarf Essex Rape. This mix would keep out weeds and be easy to terminate with a simple burn down program.
Since you will be able to get the wheat planted early think about adding one or two pounds of radish with the wheat. We see 5+ bushel gain in early planted wheat with radish. | |
