Near-north Ontario, French River | Crop insurance operates differently here in Ontario compared to the US. IMHO the replant coverage is way too high, its at a point where a guy can make money playing the game. With most seed companies providing replant free of charge ( with the caveat the original seed had to have full seed treat), a guy actaully comes out ahead with money in his pocket if he replants,,,, assuming of course the replant makes it too harvest. A more realistic payout would be in the 30-35 range, as even at that level it would cover the cost of running a planter over the field. |
