SE MN | Don't know about wing size, but I would go as deep as you find a compaction layer. In our ground, I was running into one at about 6 inches and another at 14 inches, so we ran the ripper at 16. Don't really know the bulk density of either layer, but I do know the roots were having a hard time getting past the 6 in. layer. I also try not to rip the ground at the same depth year after year. | |
