| It's not really a converter, just an adapter. Same signals, different connectors.
DVI will only transmit the video signal though, so you'll still need the analog audio cable to your speakers.
There are a few different DVI form factors, so check what your connector looks like before ordering a DVI to HDMI connector.
Another option is to replace the video card in your PC with a more recent one with HDMI. You can then connect your computer to your TV or receiver. It depends on what kind of PC and operating system you have and if there are any expansion slots available. Any recent video card will probably handle HD videos better than your current setup. | |
