First thing is STOP and find your resolutions available from the computer you want to plug into.

Digital monitors are setup for 1 optimum resolution. Some are 16:10 and TV wide angle types are 16:9 configured. Old tube TV's & monitors were 4:3  Any other than optimum resolution displayed is done by electronic tweaks & generally results in fuzzy characters or blacked out edges with the picture in the middle.

Next, cheap monitors are cheap for a reason. Some are not very bright, some color reproduction is poor and all of them must be looked at straight on. Any angle deviation side/side or up/down blurs the focus.

Taller monitors 16:10 are great for document production & reading websites, wider are for entertainment movies & spreadsheets.

Stepping up in price to an IPS monitor will give edge to edge picture clarity at wide angle viewing. A matte finish will delete any background reflections and the eye strain that comes with it.

Windows PC's since 7 come with Ray Dolby codecs (pristine audio) crappy TV or monitor built in speakers will not do you justice. A pair of amplified speakers with a subwoofer for $100 or $200 is a fix.
