East central Iowa | It's about the longest 60 minutes we spend. But what makes it worse is the house has smelled so good for an hour before the bread is done.
I do fill the bread maker pan with hot water prior to putting in the ingredients and I make certain the flour is warm as is the butter. I put flour, sugar and salt in a bowl and mix it prior to putting it in the bread maker pan. The water goes in that pan first and then the other dry ingredients. I then put make a tunnel or hole in the middle down to the water and put the dry yeast in that. I used to put the yeast in the sugar and warm water but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
I'm quite content with the rise of the bread at this point. |
