The group of Chinese spies who were convicted of digging up seeds from Pioneer foundation seed fields is currently serving a prison sentence. It is unknown how long this has been going on or much seed was sent back before they were caught.
However, there are now multiple seed companies from China that are going to start exporting corn and soybean seed. It will not be available to U.S. markets, but will it be most everywhere else?
Millions of dollars have been spent in places like Argentina by our large seed companies developing hybrids. It seems unjust the producers down there could turn around and buy the same seed for far less that we pay top dollar for here.
