Star Prairie, WI | About 2 years ago, the steering got REAL tough on my MF 180. First suspected the PS pump, but test ruled that out. had the steering box about ready to come out when the culprit was found. I had to climb onto the tractor to get something, grabbed the steering wheel, which was disconnected from the box, and it wouldn't move.
Turned out the needle bearings in the steering wheel assembly had taken a dump. There is a grease fitting for them, but I'd never seen it until I took it apart to fix it...
