West Cental Arkansas | That was a good heart-warming story. Those folks who lived through the depression and the hard times that followed were some of the most efficient people to ever lived. In some ways it affected them for life.
I can remember my grandma would watch TV with all the lights off. When I questioned her why she was doing this, she replied that her utility bills were awfully high. Probably weren't $100 per month in the middle 80's. My grandma was in her 80's at this point. She had been used to stretching a nickel into a quarter all her life. At this point natural gas had been found on some of her property and she had more money than she would ever spend in her lifetime. But still she was saving all she could in every aspect of her life, due from her experiences of living through those depression years.
Thanks for reminding me of my grandma with your story. God bless. | |
