California/Oregon | Thanks Ben. Yeah the wheat is pretty good. Got a few ugly weedy spots...thus the selling our weakest points. But overall it's gonna be a good yield I think. Even our barley (again a little ugly) looks like it'll give us a good return. You're right about the high organic prices. Even when conventional slips the organic seems to hang on.
Edited: Boy howdy, CCOF is a total PITA. The paperwork, verifications, and audits are overwhelming. But, then again, it's about selling our weakest points lots of times. Also we organic farmers (even though we grow conventional too) are on a lot of farmers black list. Even locally! Got in a "discussion" after church the other day with a local who ripped me a new one about the damage to agriculture we are doing.
