If you had been no till for a long time you had a nice balance of carbon built up. By ripping it you cashed in your structured settlement of nutrients for a lump sum with JG Wentworth. Its your nutrients, use them when you want to!

Or you have compaction issues from too many passes of foliar sprays and the added weight of the U-though planters fertilizer carrying? ;-)
