Central NE | +1 That's what my grandpa does. He's been a mechanic/farmer for 40 years and it works well. One word of caution for the precision installs is that people are going to want service in addition to the installs, so you need to know the monitors well, etc. And it can cut into your own work time pretty bad at times. I don't know how you area is for irrigation, but pivot maitenance, etc. in the fall could be a possibilty and installations in the spring, if you got on with a crew.
Another possibility if you like wrenches is a mechanic at the school or something like that. School buses always seem to need something. Just a couple ideas. Good luck.
