Subject: changing trailer suspensions

Seymour, IL
I have a drop deck trailer with the walking beam suspension. yesterday one of the springs (with the bushing eye) broke and will need replaced.
While it is apart, I figured I would need/should go ahead and rebush the suspension. Only concern is that if 1 spring broke on a 30 year old trailer (that is in pretty good shape) are the others close? Should I figure on having to replace all the springs on this suspension?

However the possibility of converting to a newer spring suspension is also an idea...has anyone done this? What headaches/problems will I run into if I try to go this route? Also toying with the idea of trying to find a salvage trailer with 22.5 LP tires and axles and doing an entire swap....this would get me away from the 15 inch doughnut tires on it now, but that will come with its own challenges as well.

Thoughts and insights welcome.
Thanks.

Bryon
