Subject: RE: comparing tire sizes

Wi

west illini - 5/2/2014 19:39 Need a tire replaced on a seed wagon. Nothing fancy, just hold some air for a week with 80-120 units on board. Right now it has a 7.00x15LT tire that has seed better days. Have a 205 75 R15 trailer tire that I kept around, but it looks 2 inches short side by side ( old one still on rim) I thought it would be closer in size. Hate to buy a newone for this job

a 7.00x15 would be a tube-type Bias tire. The standard profile/aspect ratio for tube type tires is 100%. So 2(7*1)+15=29" diameter

205/75R15 is a radial tubeless tire. 2(205*0.75)/25.4+15= 27"

Your eyeball appears to be calibrated correctly. Unfortuneatley it means you may need to use a different tire.
