NE WI | It's the painted red version of the 1690. Run.....don't look back just run. We have a 1690. You would think with 2 heads it wouldn't have head gasket problems. Wrong!!!! This was David Brown's first attempt at an inline 6 diesel and they failed. The last time we had the heads off I torqued the head bolts to 150 inch pounds. Used Hi Tack gasket sealant on both sides of the head gasket. This fixed the leaks but now the powershift gave up the ghost. Hydraulic leaks are common with all the steel pipes that would crack. I remember as a kid we used it on the blower tractor. My dad looked down for some reason on one load and he was standing in oil. The main output line from the hydraulic pump broke right off. | |
