I dont know if there are other brands of laptops that have the batterys subject to the recall, but they are in some Dell Laptops. You can log on to www. dell.com/support and find more info . I had just purchased a Dell laptop a couple months ago, but the battery in mine was not made by sony, so supposedly I should breathe a sigh of relief. I'm still breathing cautiously!
