Subject: Sitting here at the dryer this morning...silver lining?

Southern Michigan
Dumping corn this morning here at the farm. It is nice and quiet out just the hum of the dryer fan. I always look forward to this time of year, the long days and night of harvest. Bringing in what we have all worked so hard for all spring and summer. We are blessed this year with some very good crops. It is times like this I wonder what the silver lining is...my thoughts are this. I am blessed every day to wake up and do something I love. Planting a crop and watch it grow through out the season. Walking through the fields with your kids and answering their questions, hoping that they will one day they will continue a family legacy. Having a wife that understands spring and fall widow season. Watching the sun rise from the tractor seat and the sun set from the combine seat. Letting curious passer bys ride in the combine or the combine to get a better understanding of what we really do. Stopping in to visit with a neighbor or giving a helping hand. Sometimes the silver lining is often forgotten is busy hussle and bussle of the seasons. I am grateful for a morning of unloading corn and taking a few minutes to think about the silver lining.
