"World grain prices have increased dramatically on three occasions since World War II, each time as a result of weather-reduced harvests. But now it is a matter of demand simply out pacing supply." Oh I thought there were weather related production problems in the US, Europe and Australia or is my memory that bad? These organizations want short term solutions to long term problems. They need to spend more energy on eliminate what is causing the long term problems. IE the continent of Africa- Birthplace of civilization, educate the populous. Education is the foundation of a society. Education will overthrow the tyrants keeping the society under there boot. If they are free they will produce food. I know it sound simple but that is the longterm solution. We are a free, educated, governed by law society that has had visionary leaders. As a country we have invested in infrastructure (for 100 years) and protected individual rights, some of our competitors have failed to do the same. How do you make a level playing field with a country or countries that are at a place on the economic time line we were at 50 years ago. You don't, thats why there is know such thing as free trade. Unless you are a country that wants to step back in time or sit idle so everyone can catch up. I fore one say - move forward. Nfarms |
