east central ND | In spring wheat we usually try to get the kernels to a soft/medium dough stage in the very greenest areas, medium to hard dough in the rest of the field. If they still have milk, it is too early. Last few years laying it in swaths has ended up being at least a week to two weeks earlier than glyso and waiting to straight cut. But we only have about 2 days worth of wheat to combine, so we can play the weather forecast a bit.
