Martinsville, Ohio
That's right Stephen. Darrell, this looks to be a corn year in parts of Ohio though too much water has hurt some, I don't know how much. Lots of bent over corn from the saturated soil and 60 MPH winds Wednesday. Beans and corn flowering early, lots of 200 bu looking corn around here, saw ears last night to the north and east of me.

I am scouting food grade beans for Asia, weed control tough in non GMO but some perfectly clean fields too. Those few guys have got it together.

Fungus, rot and disease looks to be a big issue but shallow roots is our main problem in my estimation. All the fungicide in the world isn't going to fix most of these fields.

Wheat was very good, 110 highest in the County I've heard and lots of 80 plus but the market isn't paying well for more wheat right now. We had a lot more acres than last year because we couldn't plant fall of '11. Did protect the soil though.

Weeds and disease are our challenge this year but corn grew at record pace, just no roots on it.

Ed
