Notre Dame U is right by the toll road/I 80 in South Bend IN and it is worth a stop if you are a foot ball fan or Catholic. http://www.nd.edu/
The Studebaker museum is also in South Bend if you are into old cars.
The traffic south of Chicago is a nightmare so pick you travel times carefully.
