We have raised good continuous no-till wheat, have had some go 3 or 4 years with no problems. That being said we typically put our poorest stubble back to wheat so its a bit of a selected sample.

We are at the upper end of allowable starter fertilizer in the fall adequate seeding rate (90 lbs), we use a seed applied insecticide (Dividend RTA is what we've been using), topdress in the spring. Pick a variety with good disease ratings, new ratings just came out:
