southern MN | The old adage was always that you could remove about 1/3 of the corn stover without creating too much problem. It seems to take so much N to break down corn stover, you are better off removing it than leaving it on the field in a corn on corn environment....
You are removing P and K and micros and organic matter, so it is a real concern tho, and a person should be aware of what is going on. Need to replace the P and K cost.
