I am not sure about Crows but I tried it where I was having a problem with turkeys eating the seed. When I replanted I mixed some turpentine to the seed. Not a lot but enough that you could really smell the turpentine. I actually think it helped the turkeys find the seed. After replanting I gave up and ended up losing 2 acres to turkeys along a woods. Turkeys are a big problem in Kentucky.
