NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | First off I love barn swalows becasue of all the bugs they consume in a day so shooting them is out of the question. But how do you keep them out out of barns you don't want them in? I have my shop & cold storage building I am having trouble with. The cold storage is not such an issue because I usually will get what I want out of it then shut the doors back up before they get to acquinted with it. Now my shop is another story, I love having my doors open after having them shut all winter. I like the fresh air & natural light that comes in when they are open. I shut every thing up when I know I won't be in there for awhile. I can quess within 10 seconds when they will fly in once I open a door in the morning, ususally within 25-35 seconds of opeing a door there will be 2-3 swallows in looking for a place to build a nest.
Anybody have any fool proof way to keep then out WITHOUT shooting them :-)? | |
