Check out the Outer Banks. Close to Myrtle Beach, but not commercialized. Beautiful! Sea turtle nests to watch, dolphins to sea and lots of natural beaches that aren't crowded. We always stayed at Oak Island, but have an uncle who always takes his family to Emerald Island.
