Where I have more issue are the services that I've grown comfortable with. All it takes is one strong voice in a company who doesn't understand their users to say a service isn't worth offering. Google will be around for a long time, but they are constantly cancelling or changing services that many have come to rely on.

Other than my data being accidentally lost, this is my main question.

Say someday internet storage or "cloud" company says we are broke, so sorry. We sold our system to Google, they want you to pay $X per month to access it now.

Or the IRS says, we see you have your tax records stored in the cloud, we will be locking this account until we find a way to prove you are guilty of something, we need more revenue you see.

I'm not paranoid or anything, just wondering what it will be like, especially since we are really in the internet's early years. Having worldwide access to my cloud information I stored, is well worth it to me. My house burns to the ground and takes out both computers, I'll be able to download it. No problem. Well worth the tradeoff of what little personal information they get from me I guess.
