| My Mom did too. In 1973 went away to college...never brought my laundry home on weekends....no dryer. My youngest brother was born in 1972...13 kids in all...ranging in age from newborn to 24. One thing about a wringer washer, you could wash a load of clothes faster...but hanging them out to dry took longer. We certainly had a lot of clothes pins. We learned early how to hang out diapers to dry. If you could reach the lines, you hung out clothes. | |
