By the way, talking about releases, Intel's Haswell processors and chipsets release on June 3rd or so.
Should increase battery life of portable devices a bit, especially for Windows 8 tablets, and save power for desktop computers. And talking about power, you may not be able to upgrade your current machine to a Haswell motherboard if you don't have a PSU that supports the new Haswell power scheme. Or rather, you wouldn't be able to benefit from the extra power saving features of the processor. Most decent PSU manufacturers are already compatible with Haswell, here are some links:
