Baldwin City, KS | I talked to a guy at the KC farm show who had a booth next to the Big Iron booth I worked Sunday. He is looking for people to raise annual Lespedeza seed, as it is apparently in short supply. Sounds like you could basically frost seed it into a stand of wheat, then it comes up good after the wheat is off. Then you harvest the seed late in the fall after a frost. I asked if it could be put off till beans are done, and he indicated that is what is typical of production.
Given that we rarely have good luck with double crop beans, I was interested. Does anybody else do this? What would be some pros and cons of doing this? Thanks. | |
