| US Soybeans export decline 30% during Dec 22-27

As per the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), during the period from Dec. 22 to Dec. 27, 2007, the net sales of soybeans in the US was reported at 140,500 metric tons (a marketing year low) 79% below from the previous week and 83% from the prior 4-week average. Increase in sales were for Egypt at 72,700 metric tons, Portugal 71,500 metric tons, including 42,900 metric tons switched from unknown destinations, Netherlands at 63,200 metric tons, including 60,000 metric tons switched from unknown destinations, and Mexico 49,700 metric tons. Net sales of 10, metric tons for delivery in 2008/09 were reported for Japan.
During the above period, export of soybeans from the US amounted to 586,700 metric tons, down 30% from the previous week and 34% from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China 226,000 at metric tons, Thailand at 72,400 metric tons, Portugal at 71,500 metric tons, Israel at 50,100 metric tons, France at 32,500 metric tons, and Mexico at 25,200 metric tons. | |
